Updates
2026-Jun-15

This past Saturday, June 13, I tabled at South Bend Zine Fest in Indiana. The venue LangLab is an amazing community space that sprawls throughout an industrial building. It includes a performance stage, art studios, a café, two bars, an arcade, an art gallery, and several multi-use areas where zine vendors set up their tables. The show felt a little disorganized at first but quickly settled into a friendly and laid-back hang-out. Sales were slow, but I had many interesting chats and made a lot of trades. Tableneighbors this time included Ransom McCarthy, a familiar face from Flint Zine Fest, and poet Niko Hebron from South Bend, who provided some great recommendations for local restaurants. I stopped at Fatbird for chicken & waffles before the drive home. South Bend was the last of my scheduled shows for now, but stay tuned for Fall event announcements.
In other news, Nib Rot and Adjuster are now available at Wyrd Byrd in Ypsilanti. This is currently the only place to get a copy of Adjuster outside of shows. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend going in to check out Wyrd Byrd’s stock. They’ve got an excellent zine section that recalls the 90s heyday of record shop zine culture. Beyond their main focus on vinyl, they also carry an esoteric selection of used books, CDs, video (including VHS!), and role-playing games. Very cool store!

On Saturday, May 2, I drove up to Flint to table at the first Flint Zine Fest. There was a lot going on, with a full schedule of workshops, several sets of live music, and food trucks, ensuring a continuous flow of attendees throughout the day. This was my fourth zine fest behind the table. Although I didn’t sell much, I enjoyed the strong community vibe. I saw quite a few familiar faces from previous events, and shared a table with Flint native Ransom McCarthy, who told me all about Flint’s art scene.
I’ve got a bit of a break from shows for the next few weeks, so it’s back to the drawing table. I’m aiming to have two new minis ready for South Bend Zine Fest on June 13. Beyond that, I’ve sent a couple applications out and will add any additional events to the schedule as I hear back.
